A Journey of Resilience, Healing, and Hope: The Founders of The Healthy Shop

We are 2 girls on the path of true change and we want to make it easier for you too.

In 2016, life threw Dorina a challenge she could never have anticipated. When the birth of her son turned into survival during a grade 1 emergency c-section. She experienced eclampsia during delivery, a severe and often life-threatening condition that almost claimed the lives of both her and her baby. Though they survived, the postpartum period left Dorina struggling with multiple health complications. She experienced the relentless pain and other symptoms of endometriosis making her bed-ridden every month, persistent gut issues, and the emotional toll of dealing with cystic acne, a visible reminder of her struggles.

Emma’s journey was similarly horrible but with the unthinkable. She had lived with endometriosis for years, experiencing excruciating pain and multiple surgeries. During her third surgery, doctors discovered a rare and unexpected twist: she had developed a rare form of cancer. The diagnosis was a devastating blow, but Emma faced it with courage. After months of treatment, she became cancer-free, though the experience completely changed her outlook on life and health.

 For both women, these experiences were transformative, forcing them to reevaluate their lifestyles, prioritize their well-being, and seek deeper healing. Dorina became a Nutritional Therapist and Emma similarly educated herself on all the different approaches to health. Their paths crossed during this time, and they quickly bonded over their shared struggles and a mutual commitment to overcoming them.

They knew many others face similar battles, feeling overwhelmed and unsupported in their struggles. Inspired by their experiences, Dorina and Emma decided to turn their dedication of their healing into something bigger: 

The Healthy Shop was born from their desire to create a space where people could find trusted resources, clean and high-quality health products, and a supportive community. The duo works hard to make sure everything they offer in their shop is clean and truly works, focusing on natural remedies, wellness tools, and educational resources that helped them on their own journeys. Their mission is to empower others to take control of their health, offering the guidance they wished they had during their own struggles.

Today, Dorina and Emma are thriving as they continue their healing journeys. Their experiences shaped their mission: to make wellness accessible, relatable, and achievable for everyone.
